A school superintendent from central Pennsylvania reported that 10 students sustained injuries after the school bus and another vehicle had a head-on collision. The impact caused the bus to flip and landed on its roof. The students were required to undergo medical treatment for injuries described as minor.
School Superintendent Shane Hotchkiss of Bermudian Springs confirmed that seven students from the middle- and high-school had to be delivered to area hospitals last Friday afternoon. The scene of the wreck was 15 miles north of Gettysburg just along York Springs Highway. The other three victims were also taken to local hospitals for treatment after their conditions were evaluated in the school.
William Ceravola who is Reading Twp. Police Officer stated that a 42-year-old man who was the operator of the other colliding vehicle was listed in a serious condition after he was transported to York Hospital. Right after the accident, he went into cardiac arrest and was revived by the emergency medical team.
